Shadows of a Forgotten World

I think these are hitching rings near a medieval door in Tallinn's old town.

I’ve found only one hitching ring in Lviv so far. It is attached to the building at 16 Virmenska St. , which was built in 1792 . It looks much older than the ones I found in Lublin , so I think it’s possible that it was installed around the time the building was built, making it approximately 200 years old. For some reason, I can’t find any information about it in any books or on the Internet.

Lublin , Poland , still has some intact horse hitching rings. They are attached to the front of several buildings in downtown Lublin . These iron rings would have been used to tie up horses by people doing errands downtown. They probably started to fall out of use in the 1920s. over the years the road has risen, and now the ring is all but buried
